Katie was the elected student representative of Edinburgh College Art 2023/24, where she represented 3000+ students. Katie spoke at university-wide meetings to ensure students' views were heard, and helped implement policies such as increased funding for material costs. In Jan 2026, Katie spoke at an event run by Imaginary Friends, that brought together students, educators, and employers to share perspectives and discuss how design education could be bettered.
